George Struthers Preston & Jeanie Preston
These were my greatgrandparents.
They left Edinburgh for Toronto sometime before 1915. They lived at 55 1/2 Queen Street south, Toronto. Geore enlisted in the 58th battalion Ontario Rifles and sadly was killed at Vimy in France on the 8th of October 1916. He left behind a wife and a daughter only a few months old. His wife and daughter moved back to Edinburgh (124 grassmarket) a short while after his death.
